Continued success for our Student Enterprise Club at The Limerick Student Enterprise Awards 2019
In Castletroy College, Student Enterprise is one of the many different activities a student can partake in. The club meets in room 5 at lunch times every Thursday. This club is overseen by Ms. Carmody and Ms. Delaney.
The student enterprise club takes part in annual competitions. The first round of the competition took place on Friday the 13th of December. All the winners then went on to qualify for the county final which will take place in the South Court Hotel in March.
An example of students that went on to qualify for this are transition year students Adam Flahive and Gerard O’Driscoll, who are selling an array of outdoor themed products. Last year these two students received a Special Merit Award in the Intermediate category at the Limerick Students Enterprise Awards for their company ‘Irish Woodcraft.’
There has been great success for this club in recent years and we hope that this success will continue into the future.
Congratulations to our Senior Entrepreneurs Jack Fitzgerald, Adam Flahive and Gerard O'Driscoll on their continued success in the Limerick Student Enterprise Final 2021.
Jack came 1st in the 'Creative Business Idea' competition with his 'Garden Buddy' and will now go on to represent Limerick in The Student Enterprise National Final on May 14th 2021.
Garden Buddy is a garden service for all - but especially beginners. The aim of this business is to allow people to physically connect themselves with nature as well as to introduce the benefit of gardening for peoples mental health - especially during Covid-19.
See YouTube link for more information:
Adam & Gerard were placed 2nd in the Senior Competition winning a trophy and €200!
Their business SDMS (Student Digital Marketing Services) is aimed at local SME's with little or no digital presence - another vital service especially during Covid-19.
Check out their very impressive website:
We wish all three entrepreneurs continued success in the future.
Perhaps one day Fitzgerald, Flahive or O'Driscoll will be the next Collison billionaire success story!!!!

These two students reinvented their company from 'Christmas Creations' to 'Irish Woodcraft'. They expanded their product range to not only cater for the Christmas Market but to target a broader market with handmade wooden products. While Gerard is new to the Student Enterprise Club he joined a very experienced Adam Flahive who has been part of the club since 1st year. Last year Adam and his team made it to National Final in Croke Park with 'App of Troy' where they won the Special Merit Award. We look forward to having them both in the club in 2019 / 2020.
