English Enrichment group
The English Enrichment group is run at Castletroy College for Junior Cycle students that have demonstrated a particular proficiency in English. The group meet every two weeks and focus on developing their skills in English and appreciation of the Arts with English teacher, Ms. Tubridy.
Some of the activities they partook in last year were: attending the Mary Immaculate Dramatic Arts Society (MIDAS) production of 'A Chorus Line' at the Limetree Theatre; a visit from Jane Mitchell, the award-winning author of Chalkline. They also visited Poetry Ireland in Dublin to complete a poetry writing workshop with poet Michael Dyer and had the opportunity to visit the fantastic Seamus Heaney Exhibition Listen Now Again and The Old Library and The Book of Kells at Trinity College Dublin.
