Bibliotherapy Guide to Support Psychological Wellbeing
The Mid West Primary Care Child and Family psychology Service provides a tiered model of service delivery to families and children up to the age of 18 years where the child is presenting with emotional or behavioural difficulties in the mild to moderate range or difficulties arising from a non-complex disability. This bibliotherapy resource is a tier-1 universal support.
The resource explains bibliotherapy, an established method using books to promote emotional and psychological well-being. It offers parents, caregivers, and children helpful resource suggestions to better understand and manage emotional challenges. The guide is organised by topic and audience, with each book accompanied by a brief description and photo. It highlights how reading can provide self-help, new perspectives, and encourage communication about feelings.
This resource is intended to offer information and advice to parents and guardians who have a child or young person who has difficulties going to school. Please click here for more information.
