Last Wednesday 44 first year rugby players made their debut for Castletroy College. The boys played local Limerick rivals Crescent Comp in two thrilling games where the next generation of school superstars showed off their talent and flair.
Coaches Mr Burke and Mr English can be very proud of their performance in their opening match of the season. The lads got stuck in and it’s safe to say the future of rugby in Castletroy College is bright. Everyone is very excited to see what the next 6 years will bring for this young team. They play Rockwell this Wednesday at home at 2:30.
The Seniors are 2 from 2 this season after a friendly win against Bandon Grammar. The Trojan’s prevailed 29-26 after a hard fought comeback win against the side that knocked them out of the Senior Cup last season. Two wins on the bounce will be a big boost for the Trojans as they play old rivals Ard Scoil Rís this Wednesday in Fitzgerald Park, 2:30pm in the City Cup semi-final. A win would see them through to the final against either St Munchins or Crescent Comp. Best of luck lads.
