Welcome back to school, everyone! As the new year commences you may be slightly overwhelmed with the changes, so here is a helpful guide on how to stay positive and organised this September.
- The most important thing for staying organised is getting good sleep. Good sleep can make such a difference, as it clears your head for the day. Try to use your phone less at night - did you know that the blue light can keep you awake for longer?
- Doing your homework the day it is assigned is another very useful way of keeping on top of things. Having all of your assignments done early will lessen the amount of stress you have as the week goes on. Of course, you can’t complete everything at once, but it is a good idea to start your work earlier so you have motivation, and so you don’t need to focus on it so much once you become tired.
- Stationary can also help you to stay organised. I would recommend using subject folders for all of your worksheets, and having a weekly planner. Using a planner can remind you of what you need to get done, so you won’t fall behind on anything
Now for staying positive during school. It can definitely become stressful from time to time, but remember to surround yourself with positive people and things.
- Joining different clubs or teams during the year can expand your social circle, and you can even pick up new hobbies you hadn’t thought of before! Having friends around you or being part of a team can give you a sense of belonging at school.
- If you’re getting stressed out from studying for exams, it’s very important to take breaks by doing something you enjoy. This can be something as simple as going for a walk with your dog or having a chat with somebody.
- Try to set some goals for yourself! Looking at the bigger picture can motivate you, and it also gives you better focus and productivity.
Best of luck for the term and year ahead!
